Weigh-In #12

Weight: 201.8 lbs
Body Fat %: 40
Hydration %: 43.7

Difference: -.4 lbs from last week
-0.3% Body Fat from last week

Total: 16.6 lbs

A loss is a loss. It has been pretty slow going around here lately with the weight loss. I guess I can't really complain because the scale is moving in the right direction. There is just something about wanting it to happen faster. With all the work I am doing in and out of the gym and the reduced calories, I would think that the pounds would come off a lot faster than they have been. It's difficult and I suppose that is why I have always quit the numerous other times I have tried to do this.

I have an appointment with my doctor in a couple weeks. I'm going to ask her to check my thyroid gland (just with her hands- you can perform an at home test, I'm just not sure what I'm looking for). If she feels like there is anything to be concerned about then I will get it tested. I'm just feeling like less than 20lbs in 4 months is not normal. When you think about it, it is 1 lbs a week, but I have been busting my butt and haven't gone out of control with my eating.

Anyway, enough gloomy talk...

I photographed (most) of my eats yesterday! Here they are

  1. Girl I have only lost 12 lbs since Jan.11 and I have been working like crazy to get it off. I am thinking about talking to the dr too when I go for physical next week. I am also trying to watch my carb intake, have more protein. Hell I don't know, may be my age, may be I am insulin resistant, but I know with all the restricted eating I am doing (no cokes, no white flour, very rarely anything sweet, more exercise than I have done in 15 years) I thought I would be much further than this. Grrrr!

  2. Hey, remember when the scale was at 218? Doesn't 201.8 look and feel a whole lot better? I think you're doing fantastic. Impatience has sabotaged my weight loss efforts so many times... Hang in there. You're doing this for you!

  3. You're right Jackie- 201 is much better than 218! If only the pounds came off as fast as they go on! haha. Thanks for the encouragement!

  4. I bet there have been significant improvements in your body shape doing all that exercise. The scales are one measure of your achievements but they are not the only one...I bet you can see changes in body shape, size, tone, clothes size, feeling fitter, moving more. I do get it would be brilliant if the scales said more, but you keep on going doing the right things and the numbers will come good. Don't let the scales hard your great motivation to succeed - you're doing really well

  5. Hang in there, I know that it is tough when the scales aren't moving very fast or when you plateau. I have been working on losing weight this time for about a 18 months, and I have gone through periods just like you are now. Dawn is right, your body is changing in more ways than the scale shows. It also takes time for your body to adjust. There have been times when I have given up for a week or two, even a month, because I was discouraged, but I've gotten back on track again & eventually the weight does come off. I've lost 88 lbs so far, I have another 59 or so to lose.
    You are doing great!
